In these long and boring lockdown days, you can never have too much online content - which is why today's announcement of another title to add to the mix is most welcome.
A collection of West End stars will unite to perform an online concert revival of Gatsby: A Musical. Based on the classic novel by F Scott Fitzgerald, the show features music and lyrics by Joe Evans.
Ross William Wild and Charlotte Wakefield will lead the cast as Jay Gatsby and Daisy Buchanan with Emma Williams, Blake Patrick Anderson, Mark Antolin, Chanice Alexander-Burnett, Lauren Chinery, Robert Grose, Oliver Mawdsley, Tristan Pegg and Marc Rhys completing the cast.
Filmed at the beautiful Cadogan Hall, it will stream between Friday 12th until Sunday 14th February. There will even be VIP access which allows you to head backstage to watch the cast prepare for the show (from the comfort of your own home of course)
Writer and Director, Linnie Reedman said "Gatsby has become, over the years,
synonymous with glamour, glitz and parties. What a lot of people forget, however, is that the Roaring Twenties came immediately after a World War. And a global pandemic. It was a period of upheaval and great change. I think the story of a crushed American dream, juxtaposed against individual hope and optimism is essentially pertinent today."
Tickets can be purchased online at www.webgig.tv for £20. Early bird tickets are available for £15 if booked before Friday 5th February.
