Two New Streaming Concerts Announced for LGBT+ & Black History Month

Streaming website Thespie have announced a new series of programming including two massive new concerts. Following the success of their brilliant Reunited series, details of new programmes streaming on the website have been unveiled.

Two huge concerts celebrating Black History Month in the US and LGBT+ History Month in the UK lead the way for the new programming.

Break Free premieres on Friday 19th February at 8pm. It is an empowering musical celebration with LGBT+ theatre artists, sharing their personal journeys and performances of musical theatre and pop songs that have inspired them.

The cast for this concert includes Natasha Agnew, Paul Baker, Allie Daniel, Eloise Davis, Andrew Derbyshire, Nick Hayes, Mark Inscoe, Eleanor Kane, Millie O’Connell, Alex Thomas-Smith, Courtney Stapleton, La Voix, Andrew Patrick-Walker, Shona White, Layton Williams and Charlotte Yorke. Proceed go to LGBT+ charity Stonewall UK.

Tickets cost £8 with all proceeds going to Stonewall UK.

The Road to Prominence concert debuts a week later on Friday 26th February at 8pm. This one celebrates Black musical theatre creators from the earliy 20th Century right up to today.

Directed by Dominic Powell, whose new musical Cases is featured in the concert, it will include performances and interviews with leading UK theatre performers including Zoe Birkett, Adrian Hansel, Waylon Jacobs, Aisha Jawando, Bobby Little, Maiya Quansah-Breed, Alex Thomas-Smith and Andrew Patrick-Walker. Works including The Wiz and The Color Purple will be among them featured.

Tickets cost £15 with all proceeds going to Black Lives Matter UK.

Both concerts will be available to stream on demand following their premieres. Purchasers have 72 hours to view each one with tickets costing £8 for Break Free and £15 for The Road To Prominence

Thespie Thursdays are informal chats hosted by Aimie Atkinson, designed to show the artists in a more personal light.
