Top 20: Must-See Shows To Stream This Week (Feb 7th - 13th)

5 weeks into lockdown and thankfully there is no shortage of online theatre for us to fill those long and lonely nights with. This week is no exception with some fantastic new titles working their way online for us to enjoy. Here are 20 of the best:


WHAT?

Southwark Playhouse have kept the theatre content coming even while their doors were closed and this week, you get a chance to relive some of their lockdown content with further chances to see Fiver, Before/After, Public Domain, The Fabulist Fox Sister, The Poltergeist, Stay Awake Jake and The Last Five Years.

WHEN?

All shows are streaming on demand unti Thursday 11th February apart from The Last Five Years which you can catch until Sunday 14th February, and The Poltergeist which streams untl Sunday 28th February.

WHAT?

This filmed production of the 2019 Papatango New Writing Prize-winner Shook was originally due to transfer to the West End. The play looks at three young offenders who are due to become fathers while incarcerated in a show that promises to be both funny and poignant.

WHEN?

Streaming began last week and continues until Sunday 28th February on demand.

WHAT?

The Mischief Comedy Team are back for more livestreams where every night is a premiere. The virtual audience suggest the setting and title of a new movie and watch it unfold before their eyes. This week includes a special "Sequel Sunday" where two shows stream - the second being a direct sequel to the first.

WHEN?

This weeks shows are Sunday 7th February at 4.30pm and its sequel at 7.30pm with more shows on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th at 7.30pm

WHAT?

The Theatre Cafe are kicking off a brand new series celebrating the performance Arts industry. The first installment features Wicked star Nikki Bentley, Frozen star Joshua St. Claie, The Voice contestant Lucy Kane, graduate of the weel Gracie McGonigal and Hula hoop performer Luspinda.

WHEN?

The show streams live on Sunday 7th February at 6pm, lasting one hour.

WHERE?

WHAT?

Seth Rudetsky's ongoing concert series continues this week with the Broadway star of Mamma Mia and Anastasia, Christy Altomare. Expect stories and performances from across her career.

WHEN?

The show streams live on Sunday 7th February at 8pm ET which is 1am in the UK and is repeated on Monday 8th February at 3pm ET which is 8pm in the UK .

WHAT?

A massive celebration of musical theatre took place at the London Palladium last month with West End stars including Sam Tutty, Aisha Jawando, Nicole Raquel Dennis, Sheridan Smith and Kerry Ellis joining filmed performances from International stars including Josh Groban, Lea Salonga and Nicole Scherzinger. First aired on BBC Radio 2 last week, now we can see it all in what promises to be a fantastic night.

WHEN?

Debuting on Sunday 7th February at 7.40pm, it will be available on demand afterwards.

WHAT?

Continue a musicals filled Sunday night with a showing of the 25th anniversary concert of Les Miserables on TV. Starring Alfie Boe, Nick Jonas, Ramin Karimloo and Samantha Barks, this concert was filmed at the o2 and is as big as Les Mis gets.

WHAT?

Slava's Snowshow has around the world since it first debuted over 25 years ago. It now finds its way online. Featuring wordless clowns and a climactic blizzard, it has been described as one of the most imaginative pieces of theatre ever created.

WHEN?

Premiering on Monday 8th February, it will be available to stream on demand after.

WHAT?

The writer and composer behind Cases, Dominic Powell has a conversation with the cast of the current production of The Color Purple at Curve Leicester as part of a new series from Thespie called 'In The Room' .

WHAT?

The classic novel The Great Gatsby gets a musical adaptation filmed at Cadogan Hall. Starring Ross William Wild, Charlotte Wakefield, Blake Patrick Anderson and Emma Williams, as well as the normal stream there is also VIP access which takes you backstage with the cast.

It streams from Friday 12th until Sunday 14th February at 7.30pm with an extra showing on Sunday at 8.30am

WHAT?

The Waitress co-stars teamed up for their first joint concert together in August 2020. There are now three more chances to stream this gig which featured songs from their careers, hilarious and moving stories, a lot of banter and an incredible duet of 'She Used To Be Mine'.

WHAT?

Sam Tutty and Emily Redpath lead a brand new online production of William Shakespeare's classic tale just in time for Valentines Day. Filmed with clever safety measures, this high production looks like a must watch

WHEN?

Streams begin on Saturday 13th February and run for 2 weeks until Saturday 27th with performances at 7.30pm each evening and matinees some days at 2.30pm.

WHERE?


WHAT?

Game show 'Love Roulette' is revived for this interactive online play where the audience moves the play along based on your pairings. This comedy is made for inclusivity and is completely free to watch.

WHEN?

Starting on Saturday 13th February, catch it nightly at 8pm until Saturday 20th February.
