The Drifters Girl Delays Run To 2021

The new musical The Drifters Girl has delayed its West end run to next year.

The show, starring Beverley Knight as Faye Treadwell, the manager of The Drifters, was due to open at the Garrick Theatre later this year for a limited run, following a world premiere in Newcastle.

Both the Newcastle and West end runs have now been delayed a year. The show will now open at Newcastle Theatre Royal on Saturday 9th October 2021 before moving to the Garrick theatre in London for a 20 week run beginning on Thursday 4th November 2021.

The show features some of the best known Drifters songs including 'Under The Boardwalk' and 'Saturday Night At The Movies'. Beverley treated us to a preview of the show at the pilot gig at the Palladium last month with a rendition of the classic 'Stand By Me'. Have a look below:

This makes the last major show due to open in the West end this year to now be pushed back to 2021. From the looks of it, it will be worth the wait.
