The Cher Show UK Tour: First Night Recap

Tonight saw the European premiere of the Cher show as the extensive UK tour kicked off. I was there front row centre for the occasion.

As with my other first night posts this will be a picture heavy look at the theatre, the stage and the curtain call with little bits of information about the show. If you're waiting for my actual review, you'll have to wait until another time for that.

Opening at Curve Leicester. There's no big hoarding but there is this poster outside

The merchandise is GLORIOUS with a "let's do this bitches" complete with silver glitter an obvious addition to my collection.

More merch will follow including "shoop shoop socks"

It's a revised production so spoiler alert, here are the musical numbers:

There is a new stage for this production - full of costumes, wigs and BELIEVE on the floor

And the act 2 stage. Great use in detail was the year appearing throughout the set

The show starts with a hilarious message calling out other divas and telling the audience not to sing as they can't follow her. However, curtain call photos and videos are encouraged with Cher shouting "Get your phones out, bitches!"

Here are the amazing cast tonight:

As for the show itself, it's pretty incredible.

Noticeably different to the Broadway production but as close to perfection as it gets, with new costumes and revisions - it just works.

Millie O'Connell, Danielle Steers and Debbie Kurup ARE Cher, and boy are they brilliant at it.

I will be seeing it again on the tour, with a review to come at some point. Be warned - this could be one of my favourites of the year!
