2020 has been noticeably dull without one of the funniest shows in the West End but I believe 2021 will be a lot better as Delfont Mackintosh have announced plans to re-open The Book of Mormon from Monday 12th July 2021.
The show becomes the latest to announce re-opening following Mamma Mia yesterday. It is currently booking for a period until October 23rd 2021 but expect that to be extended once again.
It looks as if Delfont Mackintosh are trickling these announcements out one by one so don't be surprised if we get Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen in the coming days. It has also been revealed that the full production of Les Miserables will re-open at the end of May with tickets on sale next week.
The show has played to sold out audiences at the Prince of Wales theatre since 2013. It had to shut its doors with all the other theatres in March this year but after what will have been 17 long months, it will be back where it belongs - making us roar with laughter in the aisles.
With all over announcements at the moment, this is all subject to what is happeming in regards to safety measures and social distancing as Delfont Mackintosh are planning to re-open their shows at full capacityy - but it is clear that producers are eyeing up June/July 2021 as a time when it will be safe to re-open. Let's hope they're right.
Either way this is good news for you and me... but mostly me as I've just booked. See you on the first night!
Tickets are on sale now to DMT+ members from delfontmackintosh.co.uk
