Sam Tutty & Emily Redpath To Lead New Streamed Production Of 'Romeo + Juliet' Next Month

Updated: Jan 22, 2021

More details of a brand new streamed production of Romeo and Juliet have been revealed. Originally announced in November 2020, the full cast has now been unveiled as well as when we can all watch this new production.

Filmed during the pandemic, the production used clever safety measures including perpsex screens between the two leads. The role of Romeo will be played by Dear Evan Hansen star Sam Tutty, who last year won an Olivier award for his role in the show. He will be joined by Emily Redpath as Juliet.

The pair will be joined by Brandon Bassir, Daniel Bowerbank, Jonny Labey, Vinta Morgan, Lucy Treggar, Sylvester Akinrolabu, Marc Ozall, Jessica Murrain, Helen Anker, Timmy Driscoll, Tats Nyazika, Ollie Tennant and Iskandar Eaton. The cast is completed by an acting legend with Sir Derek Jacobi playing the narrator in the show.

Produced by Ryan Metcalfe and Simon Gordon, the show will stream for one week between Saturday 13th - Saturday 20th February.

Tickets are available from romeojuliet2021.com/tickets A portion of all ticket sales will be donated to Acting For Others. Tickets cost £15 if booked before February 11th and £20 afterwards. Showtimes are 7.30pm each evening with matinees at 2.30pm on Sunday 14th, Wednesday 17th and Saturday 20th February.

Merchandise for the show is also available at romeojuliet2021.com

This looks like it is going to be a must watch. Sam Tutty deservedly won an Olivier for his incredible performance in Dear Evan Hansen so to see him take on such an iconic role is going to be interesting.
