Romantics Anonymous To be Streamed On "Digital Tour"

Emma Rice's musical Romantics Anonymous will be performed live on stage at the Bristol Old Vic and streamed online as part of a "digital tour" between Tuesday 22nd and Saturday 26th September. Each show will be streamed across the UK.



In an act of industry solidarity, partner theatres across the world will sell tickets for different nights of the week. Each night will be tailored to audiences in different parts of the world, and there’ll be a sprinkle of local flavour added before each stream begins.

The musical features a book by Emma Rice, lyrics by Christopher Dimond and music by Michael Kooman. It tells the love story of a shy chocolate maker and the awkward boss of a chocolate factory. It played a highly successful run in London in 2017. with former cast members expected to reprise their roles. Casting will be announced soon.


The show will be a full production with tickets costing £15. The production said "The company has been isolating together in one large bubble for the last two weeks so that the show can be performed in its original form – with no social distancing! There will be singing, dancing and chocolate eating… and, if true love has its way, even kissing… Imagine that!"

I got to see this show when it was in London - it was a pretty wonderful show and will definitely put a smile on your face. Just make sure you've got some chocolate to hand during the show. Here's a preview of what you can expect:
