The world premiere of the brand new musical adaptation of My Best Friends Wedding has had its entire run delayed until 2021.
The show was due to start a UK tour in Manchester later this year but will now begin performances on September 20th 2021 before working its way around the country through 2022 visiting Sunderland, Aberdeen, Southampton, Wimbledon, Plymouth, Sheffield, Stoke-on-Trent, Nottingham, Bradford, Southend, Milton Keynes, Dartford, Cardiff, Glasgow, Crawley, Oxford, Liverpool, Leicester, Edinburgh, Wolverhampton, Woking, Bristol and Hull.
The show stars Alexandra Burke in the role made famous by Julia Roberts in the classic movie and will feature songs by Burt Bacharach including the iconic 'I Say A Little Prayer' (Who doesn't immediately think of the scene in the movie whenever they hear that song?)
Tickets will automatically be transferred for the new dates with further venues yet to go on sale.
A shame this isn't going to take place this year although we knew it was likely. Hopefully this will be worth the wait in 2021.
