It has been announced this morning that the West end production of Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge has been delayed to Autumn 2021.
The show was due to begin at the Piccadilly Theatre in March 2021, taking over from Pretty Woman which was expected to end its limited run in January.
Obviously the pandemic put a spanner in the works, and when priority booking for Moulin Rouge didn't take place, theatre fans got an inkling that it might not open on time.
No exact date has been confirmed for when the show will start but November 2021 has been pencilled in.
Pretty Woman had already added an extra month of shows on to its bookings so it is expected they will make up for lost time by extending at the Piccadilly until Moulin Rouge is ready to arrive.
The show is meant to be spectacular and has won rave reviews from those who have seen it on Broadway so I'm sure when it does finally open over here, it will be worth the wait. Here's a quick tease of what you can expect when it does arrive:
