A new series of concerts will take place at the Apollo Theatre in London from January 11th, it has been announced.
Monday Night At The Apollo will take place every other Monday at the theatre, which is home to Everybody's Talking About Jamie for the remainder of the week, with the first three dates confirmed as Monday 11th January, Monday 25th January and Monday 8th February.
An intimate evening of conversation and song hosted by Greg Barnett, Monday Night at the Apollo will see some of the West End’s best-known performers sing an eclectic mix of music from their favourite genres. Performers will share their most cherished memories and experiences from their careers, alongside performances of music which is personal to them, in a relaxed and informal theatrical celebration.
The first concert on January 11th features married couple Rosalie Craig and Hadley Fraser who recently starred in City of Angels and Before After together, as well as Lucie Jones, Cedric Neal and Arthur Darvil.
The show will be produced by Greg Barnett and Hugh Summers for Wild Mountain Productions Ltd. They said: "The challenges of 2020 have forced us, like many in the industry, to adapt and embrace unforeseen obstacles to create something new. We're excited to launch the company with a string of concerts celebrating the diverse talent of British theatre. The arts mean so much to so many people and we feel it is important to do everything we can to continue to show its value and raise awareness to the challenges it is facing. As well as contributing to the reopening of our sector, we will be raising money to support the thousands of freelancers who are struggling to survive the pandemic through the incredible organisation Acting for Others. It's time to bring audiences around the country - and beyond - the joy of live theatre once again."
The line up for the subsequent concerts are yet to be announced but this sounds like an amazing way to spend a Monday night. I'll be at the first one!
Tickets are available from nimaxtheatres.com for the first three dates, with the shows also being streamed online. A portion of profits from ticket sales will go towards Acting For Others
