Mischief Movie Night To Play Limited Season At Vaudeville Theatre

Over the past few months, Nimax Theatres have announced details of shows re-opening five of their six West End venues. While the plans were pushed back due to the lockdown, the one show that was left uncertain was Magic Goes Wrong at the Vaudeville Theatre.

It has now been announced that Magic Goes Wrong will step aside to allow another show from Mischief Comedy to take its place - Mischief Movie Night.

Mischief Movie Night will play a limited season at the Vaudeville from Wednesday 9th December until 31st January 2021. The show recently embarked on a tour of outdoor venues including shows at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre. The show is unscripted from the Mischief Comedy team. Each night is the world premiere of a brand new movie, created on the spot with audience suggestions.

Magic Goes Wrong will re-open at the Vaudeville Theatre from October 21st 2021, with Songs For A New World playing a limited season at the venue from February 2021. It is hoped Magic Goes Wrong will play without social distancing.

Producer Kenny Wax says: "Alongside the need for Stage 5 of the Culture Secretary's roadmap allowing us to open up without social distancing and the need for a government backed insurance scheme, audience participation is right at the heart of the experience of Magic Goes Wrong. We frequently bring patrons onstage to assist in the illusions as well as performing close magic tricks to them in their seats. This feels out of step with current coronavirus advice on this particular production until social distancing can be relaxed. We feel it is better to postpone the show until a time when it can be presented to its full potential. In the meantime we are thrilled to announce that the original Mischief Company performers will stage their improv show Mischief Movie Night which will play 9th December – January 31st at the Vaudeville Theatre."

The other long running show from Mischief, The Play That Goes Wrong re-opens at the Duchess Theatre on the same day as Mischief Movie Night - December 9th.
