There's been rumours of a revival of Disney's Beauty and the Beast musical heading to the UK for some time now and tonight the news came that it's officially happening.
A European tour will begin in May 2021 starting with 5 weeks at the Curve Leicester before heading around the UK and Ireland. Disney Theatricals are behind the production, working with the original creative team for the Broadway production.
Casting is currently underway. The show features music from Alan Menken and lyrics from Howard Ashman and Tim Rice.
This is brilliant news - hopefully it can settle in a West end venue after the UK tour as this will be fantastic to see on the stage, especially if they include elements from the recent live action adaptation.
