Back To The Future Cast Recording Announced / 'Back In Time' Single Released.

One of the most eagerly anticipated theatre events of 2021 is the West end transfer of the long awaited musical adaptation of Back To The Future. This show looks set to dominate the theatre world next year but it's not stopping at just a West End transfer.

It has been announced that a full cast recording of the musical will be released in summer of next year. Featuring brand new songs by multi-Grammy winners Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard alongside classic songs from the movie including the iconic 'The Power Of Love', the cast recording will be released through Masterworks Broadway.

Mark Cavell, President, Sony Masterworks notes: “I am thrilled beyond all measure that Sony Music Masterworks will be bringing you the fantastic music from this great show, featuring a host of new songs from the combined talents of Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard together with firm favourites from the movie”.

As a special treat for audiences eager to connect with Back To The Future and to celebrate 'Back To The Future Day' on October 21st (the day Marty and Doc travel to when they go back to the future), a single from the forthcoming cast recording has been released.

Originally recorded by Huey Lewis & The News for the movie, 'Back In Time' is performed by Olly Dobson who plays the role of Marty McFly in the musical. The single has been released today, available on all good platforms. You can listen to the song and watch the lyric video below:

The musical is scheduled to open on May 14th at the Adelphi Theatre. Produced by the creators of the film trilogy Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, the show stars Roger Bart as Dr Emmett Brown, Olly Dobson as Marty McFly, High Coles as George McFly, Rosanna Hyland as Lorraine Baines, Cedric Neal as Goldie Wilson, Aidan Cutler as Biff Tannen and Courtney-Mae Briggs as Jennifer Parker.’

Playing to rave reviews in Manchester earlier this year, Back To The Future's run was tragically cut short due to the pandemic, playing for just three weeks of a planned three month run. I managed to catch the show in that time and was blown away by both the production and the talent on stage. Trust me when I say this is a show you're not going to want to miss.

Tickets for the show are on sale now from £19.55 at with 'Back In Time' available to stream and download from all good music platforms now.
