2026 Preview: The Best Shows To See Next Year

As 2025 draws to a close, attention draws to next year - and there’s no easing in to it with sone big and exciting new shows opening as soon as the New Year’s festivities end. With big Broadway transfers, huge West End openings, exciting regional offerings,  and massive tours, there were no shortage of shows to pick from in my 2026 preview - so here are a whopping 90 of them to see in 2026:

CIRQUE DU SOLEIL: OVO (Royal Albert Hall)

American playwright Thornton Wilder’s masterpiece returns in a new production told through a Welsh lens, bringing new life and vivid resonance for modern audiences. Starring Michael Sheen, it plays three venues in Wales before concluding its run in Kingston.

Next year’s big summer musical at the Palladium is another Andrew Lloyd Webber classic, with the return of the award-winning Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre starring Sam Ryder as Jesus.



THE JONATHAN LARSON PROJECT (Southwark Playhouse Borough)

The celebrated New York tribute featuring previously unheard songs from the legendary composer of RENT makes its UK premiere, commemorating 30 years since Larson’s tragic death.



CATS (Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre)

A brand new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s global sensation will leap into the outdoor setting of Regent’s Park next summer, directed and choreographed by Drew McOnie.

A major new production of the cult musical comedy will play in Manchester until 29th November in the longest sit-down production in the UK since the 2007 West End production. It then heads to Liverpool for a Christmas season
