15 Of The Best: New Shows To Stream This Week (March 7th - 13th)

It's another week full of great online theatre for us to enjoy, WIth concerts both sides of the Atlantic, celebrations for International Womens Day and some big new productions, here are the best shows to watch over the next 7 days:


WHAT?

Seth Rudetsky's weekly concert series continues this week with the West End and Broadway star of Miss Saigon, Les Miserables and Hadestown - Eva Noblezada. Catch her discuss her career and perform songs from across it.

WHEN?

Catch it live on Sunday 7th March at 8pm ET which is 1am in the UK. It will then be repeated at 3pm ET on Monday 8th March which is 8pm in the UK.

WHERE?

This week sees the long awaited return of The Shows Must Go On series. This week, they are teaming up with Letters Live for a series of readings in aid of International Women's Day. The show features Olivia Colman, Gillian Anderson, Rose McGowan and Daisy Ridley to name but a few.

WHEN?

It premieres on Monday 8th March at 7pm where it will be available to watch on demand completely free for 7 days.

WHAT?

For International Women's Day, Thespie are bringing back two concerts featuring 'Seven' made up of Queens from Six. 'The Reunion x Girl Power' features two hours of performances and will include previously unreleased footage.

WHAT?

Based on the classic novel, Daddy Long Legs is the story of an orphan and her mysterious benefactor who decides to send her to college to be educated as a writer. This production was filmed at the Smock Alley Theatre in Dublin in 2018.

WHEN?

It streams from Monday 8th until Sunday 14th March with showings at 7.30pm each evening. There will also be matinees at 2.30pm on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

WHAT?

Geometry of Fear is a work synthesised by Elisabeth Frink and the changes we have experienced in our lives caused by Covid-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement.

WHEN?

Streaming for one week from Monday 8th until Sunday 14th March at 7.30pm each evening with performances at 2.30pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Two new monologues comissioned by The Old Vic to mark International Women's Day will debut online. Aisha traces the history of Black Women's Political Power in the US while Putting A Face On is about domestic abuse in women's daily lives.

Hamilton star Giles Terera joins writer and broadcaster Edward Seckerson to discuss his life in musical theatre, illustrated by treasured recordings.

If you missed the concert production of Gatsby: A Musical filmed at Cadogan Hall last week, you now have another chance to catch it. Based on The Great Gatsby, this production stars Jodie Steele, Ross William Wild, Liam Doyle, Emma Williams and Blake Patrick Anderson.

WHEN?

It streams from Thursday 11th until Sunday 14th February at 7.30pm each evening with a matinee on Sunday at 3pm.

WHAT?

The Broadway cast reunion series continues with The Lion King featuring Tony and Grammy award winner Heather Headley. In this series you get to visit backstage with the cast and hear personal stories from them.

WHEN?

It airs live on Wednesday 10th March at 8pm ET which is 1am in the UK. It is then available to stream on demand until Sunday 14th March.

WHAT?

This new musical about the Gunpowder Plot will be filmed at Cadogan Hall with an all star cast leading a concert production. Lucie Jones, Bradley Jaden, Cedric Neal, Oliver Tompsett and Sharon Rose are among those taking part.

This darkly comic children’s opera from the award-winning Belfast Ensemble retells the familiar story of the Pied Piper. The cast are accompanied by a socially distanced 16-piece orchestra.

A virtual event celebrating International Women's Day is taking place this year. Women's Day on Broadway will see speeches, conversations and panel sessions with participants including Laura Benanti and Karen Olivo.

A virtual event in celebration of Liza Minelli's 75th birthday, it features performances and appearances by Chita Rivera, Andrew Rannells, John Cameron Mitchell and Jonathan Groff.

WHAT?

The Royal Shakespeare Company are staging a live online performance based on A Midsummer Night's Dream. Using the latest technology, it will be performed with seven actors in a specially created motion capture space.

The fourth in the series of Drive In concerts to be streamed focuses on an Aladdin reunion with performances from Trevor Dion Nicholas, Matthew Croke, Hiba Elchikhe and Shanay Holmes.
