The Best New Streams To Watch This Week

It's another week of lockdown. McDonalds might be delivering but the theatres aren't open. Talk about priorities! Not to worry, there is still an abundance of shows being made available online with each passing week. These are some of the best that have just become available or will be coming out throughout the week:

WHAT?

The NBC live broadcast of The Wiz was first broadcast in 2015 and has an all star cast including Queen Latifah, Amber Riley and Mary J Blige.

WHEN?

It will be available on Friday 12th June at 7pm for 48 hours only.

WHERE?

Available here. Watch it live with thousands of other people and don't forget to check All That Dazzles for the review on Saturday.

WHAT?

This weeks title in the weekly National Theatre At Home series is the Nottingham Playhouse of The Madness Of King George starring Mark Gatiss in the titular role.

WHEN?

Available Thursday 11th June at 7pm for one week only. In the meantime, you can still watch Coriolanus starring Tom Hiddleston on the website.

WHERE?

WHAT?

The Old Vic production of he Patrick Ness' novel A Monster Calls is an incredible piece of theatre. Read my review on the website for a mostly spoiler free take on just why you should watch it.

WHEN?

It was made available last Friday and is available now but only until Thursday 11th June. Watch it while you can!

WHERE?

Direct link is posted above. If you've got a spare two hours, give it a click - you know you want to!

WHAT?

Bristol Old Vic are streaming this musical for all ages. One to watch if you have children at home, or if, like me, you're a big kid at heart yourself.

WHEN?

You can watch it for one week only starting from Friday 12th June at 6pm.

WHERE?

Available on the Bristol Old Vic website https://bristololdvic.org.uk/whats-on/mr-maglump

WHAT?

Technically, it's not new but I saw a few people talking about Memphis following my Theatre Throwback article. Some have never seen the show and some were not aware the Broadway version was filmed online. So why not treat it as new and give it a watch this week? The themes are incredibly powerful and relevant and the songs are amazing.

WHEN?

Right now and for the forseeable future.

WHERE?

Available on broadwayHD.com. Sign up for a 7 day free trial if you haven't already.

WHAT?

The first of two concerts from theatre royalty filmed at the legendary New York venue that will be made available this week. Rachel Tucker is the star of Wicked and Come From Away and has one of the best voices on both sides of the Atlantic. Watch her do what she does best in this specially filmed concert.

WHEN?

It comes online Friday 12th June at 6.30pm ET which is 11.30pm in the UK.

WHERE?

WHAT?

The 54 Below concert is available from Saturday 13th June at 6.30pm ET, 11.30pm in the UK.
